Yirlc hong kong 2025 - workshops
Overview
1. Policymaking 101 and the UN (Day 1, 6:30–7:30 pm)
This session introduces students to the fundamentals of policymaking, how decisions are made at the governmental and international level, and the role of the United Nations in addressing global issues. By grounding students in these concepts early, they gain the framework needed to approach the SDG Challenge as policymakers rather than just problem-solvers.
2. Policy Research and Writing (Day 2, 10 am–12 pm)
Students learn how to structure policy research, find credible sources, and write persuasively in a policy brief style. This workshop equips them with the analytical and communication tools necessary to support their SDG proposals with evidence and clarity.
3. Public Speaking and Pitching Workshop (Day 2, 1–4 pm)
A hands-on session that builds confidence in public speaking and teaches practical pitching skills. Students practice delivering clear, compelling arguments—skills that directly prepare them to present their SDG solutions persuasively during the final pitches.
4. Creating Impact in Your Community (Day 3, 11 am–12 pm)
This session connects global issues to local action, showing students how to translate big ideas into tangible projects within their own communities. It helps ensure their SDG Challenge solutions are not only visionary but also grounded, realistic, and implementable.
